The film has been used over the years as an excellent means to illustrate, educate and fascinate showing all aspects of the swift breeding cycle and has even greater relevance today with our increasingly hot summers.
The film won “Special Recognition Award” in 1982 at The World Wildlife Film Festival, acclaimed for its visual artistry and poignant storytelling, the challenging subject and the use of innovative and pioneering filming techniques to capture first-of-their-kind behavioural sequences of the “Devil Bird”.
